Scripture Reading: Jude 20-21 (NIV)
“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
Reflection: In these verses, Jude encourages believers to actively participate in their spiritual growth. We are called to build ourselves up in the most holy faith. This involves a continuous process of learning, understanding, and living out our faith in Christ. It’s not a passive journey; it requires intentional effort.
Prayer plays a vital role in this process. Jude emphasizes praying in the Holy Spirit. This means allowing the Spirit to guide and shape our prayers. It involves a deep connection with God, seeking His will and aligning our hearts with His purposes. As we pray in the Spirit, we open ourselves to divine wisdom, strength, and comfort.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of faith and the opportunity to build ourselves up in your most holy faith. Help us to be intentional in our spiritual growth, seeking a deeper understanding of your Word and a closer walk with you. May our prayers be guided by the Holy Spirit, aligning our hearts with your will. Keep us in your love as we eagerly await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who brings us to eternal life. In His name, we pray. Amen.
Application: Take time today to reflect on your spiritual journey. How can you actively build yourself up in your most holy faith? In what ways can you deepen your prayer life, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your conversations with God? Consider one practical step you can take this week to grow spiritually.
