Good afternoon! Here’s a Lutheran devotion based on Ephesians 3:20-21 (ESV):
Scripture:
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
— Ephesians 3:20-21 (ESV)
Devotion:
In these comforting words, Paul directs our hearts to the boundless power and immeasurable grace of our God. He reminds us that our Lord is not limited by our small prayers or hesitant expectations; instead, He surpasses even our grandest hopes. When we feel powerless or inadequate, we trust in the One whose divine strength continually works within us through Christ and the Holy Spirit. This mighty power transforms us, sustains our faith, and leads us toward everlasting life.
Our lives, therefore, become a testimony—not to our own strength, but to God’s inexhaustible grace and glory. As we live faithfully in Christ, we join generations of believers who proclaim this wondrous truth: God’s goodness is greater than our imagination, and His faithfulness endures eternally.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, strengthen our faith to trust that You can and will do abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine. May our lives and Your church bring You glory forever, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
