“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”
Reflection
This verse comes from Moses’ instructions to Israel as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. God calls His people not only to hear His Word but to treasure it—to lay it deep in heart and soul.
Binding the Word on the hand and between the eyes is a vivid picture: it should guide both what we do (hands) and how we see (eyes). In other words, God’s truth shapes our actions and our perspective.
For us today, this reminds us of the central place of Scripture in the Christian life. God’s Word isn’t meant to be distant or theoretical—it is to be remembered, meditated on, and lived out daily. When we let His Word saturate us, it directs our steps, corrects our vision, and anchors us in His promises.
