🌅 Daily Devotion — Ephesians 1:7 (ESV)
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”
💭 Reflection
This verse captures the very heart of the Gospel, redemption through His blood.
Paul reminds us that our forgiveness is not earned by effort, performance, or moral striving. It’s entirely a gift of grace, poured out through the sacrifice of Jesus.
The word “redemption” comes from the ancient practice of buying a slave’s freedom — to redeem meant to pay a price so that someone could be set free. Jesus did exactly that for us. His blood was the price, and our freedom was the result.
When guilt or regret tries to whisper in your ear, remember this: the debt has already been paid. You’re not working toward forgiveness, you’re walking from forgiveness. The cross wasn’t just a transaction; it was a declaration of God’s unmeasurable love and mercy.
In the marketplace of grace, your worth was confirmed at Calvary, and that price tag can never be lowered.
