🙏 Let’s begin the week with 1 Timothy 2:5–6 (ESV):

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.”

Reflection

Paul reminds Timothy of the core of the gospel: salvation is not through many gods, many paths, or many mediators—but through one God and one Mediator, Jesus Christ.

Christ stands uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between sinful humanity and the holy God because He is both fully God and fully man. His self-giving death is described as a ransom, language that points to redemption, purchase, and freedom from bondage.

This is the heart of our faith: Christ’s work is sufficient for all, though it is effective for those who believe. In a world full of religious pluralism and self-made pathways, this passage boldly declares: Jesus alone is the way.

Scripture Connections

  • John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • Hebrews 9:15 – Christ is the mediator of a new covenant through His death.
  • Mark 10:45 – The Son of Man came “to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Mediator and my ransom. Thank You that I do not need to rely on my own works or worthiness but only on Your sacrifice. Help me to rest in Your finished work and boldly share this good news with others today. Amen
